Schools Out!

Ms. Diana (from the library) & Annabelle
The end of the school year really snuck up on me! I was getting Annabelle ready for school last week and I thought to myself "I better check on the May schedule and see when school is out". After I dropped Annabelle off that morning, I stopped at the front desk and asked for a May schedule. To my surprise, the last day of preschool was that same week! So now Annabelle is home for the summer, she graduated from story time today & we have an entire summer open to do anything we want, well, almost anything since Justin will be teaching summer school (he's off for a couple weeks before school starts again!). We're planning a couple visits to the beach and maybe Sea World if the weather isn't too unbearably hot. Sitti & Papa are coming to visit and we'll have fun hanging out with them. Lets hope the summer doesn't fly by as quickly as the school  year did!

Dancing

Posing for Daddy

With her dance class

Waiting to dance

Dancing to the dolly song

On her toes...kind of

My sweetie
Annabelle danced at her first event, relay for life, on Friday night. She did a fantastic job and I was very impressed that she actually danced and didn't just stand there looking scared! This was a good "practice run" to see if she'll dance at a recital. The next recital will be in the fall/winter and costumes are very, very pricey so I hated to spend money on a costume if she wouldn't even go on stage and dance. I am so glad that she really loves her ballet/tumbling class. I have been thinking about researching soccer teams but she just doesn't show much interest in sports so I think we'll stick with dance for now.

Ears Pierced!

Before

A little nervous after

After!
Annabelle got her ears pierced today. She had been talking about it for weeks. Every day she asks "All the other girls in my preschool have pierced ears, why don't I?" We talked about how everyone can be different, not everyone needs earrings. She then points out that even Momma has earrings. I never thought ear piercing would be so important to a 4 year old! And Annabelle is right, every little Hispanic girl in the valley has pierced ears, from tiny one month olds to preschoolers on up. So, today Justin and I finally gave in and got her ears pierced. I was sure she would chicken out and change her mind at the last minute but she was very brave and excited about it, she marched right up to the chair, hopped in and let them do it. She didn't cry, shoot, I think she only flinched a little bit. Afterwards she immediately asked for a mirror and was so excited at how "beautiful" the earrings look. I think I was more nervous than her, I didn't even look while they were doing it! Now my tiny little girl has pink diamonds in her ears :)
