Almost the End of February! Already!

Annabelle had a 3 yr. well child check up this morning with our new pediatrician. The appointment went well & Annabelle is above average in everything. The new doctor was very nice, it's great to know we have a pediatrician now if Annabelle does get sick. Funny thing is, since she stopped going to daycare and moved down here where it never gets cold she hasn't been sick in over 6 months!...knocking on wood now. Annabelle truly has a mind of her own, she refused to let them weigh her until they bribed her with a sticker and then they wanted her to put on a little paper gown, I put it on her and she said "take this thing off me, it's ridiculous!" The doctor looked at Annabelle's feet and knock knees (thanks for the bad genes Daddy) and recommended ballet or exercise where she stands on her toes to help develop her leg muscles, I mentioned to the doctor that Annabelle falls down a lot on the playground and doesn't climb/run as well as the other children, this is an effect of the knock knees. Hopefully the exercises will help.

Walter has been showing his true "cat skills" lately, he's a real killer in the backyard, so far he has killed 2 rats (yes, large rats, not mice) and a gecko, he tried to bring a large dead rat in the house tonight but I stopped him before he could get in the door, he brought a bloody gecko tail in the other night - so disgusting. Funny since he is a house cat & we only let him outside for a little while each night, we never knew he was such a killer!

I met with a landscaper a couple days ago to look in to getting our backyard fixed. He plans on scalping, tilling, raking & leveling our backyard before putting down new sod. I'm pretty sure we're going to hire him since he owns a legitimate business & is insured. Just seems safer to hire a professional & not a random day worker! Hope he can start soon so we can cut down on the rat/gecko/unwanted critter population in the backyard...thank goodness we have "the killer" to keep the critters out of the house!

T-Bone Steak

Just had to make this felt t-bone steak (here ya go Justin!). I think I'll try to make a pork chop or something else "meatlike" next :)

Saturday in the Sun

Annabelle loves playing with her "Earth" ball on sunny days. We usually have an "audience" of birds that sit on the roof peak and watch us!

Valentine's Day Gifts

Daddy got Annabelle (& Mommy) lots of nice things for Valentine's Day. Annabelle was so happy that Daddy bought her a little pink puppy she had really, really wanted at KMart. When he handed the puppy to her she said "Hi little puppy, did you walk ALL THE WAY to our house from KMart"...it was too funny! Then she had to immediately introduce the new puppy (who she named Rose) to Melly, her most favorite stuffed puppy in the whole wide world. Daddy also gave Annabelle a delicious chocolate puppy that Annabelle couldn't wait to eat!

Outlet Mall

Today we took a trip to Mercedes to the outlet mall. Justin didn't have to work today, it was a perfect day to take a little road trip plus we had some really sunny weather, great weather for shopping. We found lots of bargains. We even got to go to my favorite store - the Coach store & Justin bought me an awesome new Coach handbag for Valentine's Day (beats candy & flowers any day!). Annabelle had a good time riding all the little outdoor rides that they had at the outlet mall. We were glad we brought her stroller because there was lots of walking involved. We'll definitely go back to the outlet mall next time we need new clothes or shoes. I love shopping!

Sugar Cookie

Made this felt sugar cookie with sprinkles. I think chocolate chip cookies are next!

Fortune Cookie

Made this fortune cookie for Valentine's Day for Justin. It says "We are "Fortune"-ate to have a Daddy like you!". This one was easy to sew on the sewing machine! Now if I can just keep it hidden until Valentine's Day (Annabelle LOVES to tell all my secrets to her Daddy!).

Strawberry Donut

Made this felt strawberry donut last night. Delicious! Annabelle's felt food collection is growing...soon she'll be able to open a restaurant!

Mmmm...Cupcakes

Today Annabelle & I made this delicious cupcake. This one was all sewn by hand so it was a little trickier than the eggs. Mmmmm delicious cupcakes. Now I just need to make a dozen more!

Eggs Anyone?

Annabelle & I made "pretend" eggs today. She's been playing with them non-stop since I made them. I'm not much of a seamstress (as you can tell) but these were done "freehand" by me :)

The SittiPapa Dance

Annabelle has been doing this crazy dance lately & finally got it on video. She calls it the "Sitti Papa Dance". Sorry, I didn't have time to edit this one since I took the video on my vado instead of my digital camera...(This one's for you Sitti & Papa!) Somehow Annabelle has this amazing knack of not getting dizzy! (I personally would be puking if I spun in a circle just once...)

Our Bad, Bad Backyard

Ugggh, I hate to even post this photo but wanted you all to have a "visual" of how bad our backyard is. Yes, those giant green things are weeds. It does look much better today because Justin mowed all the weeds down but I'm sure it won't be long before they grow back again. Hoping to soon be rid of the "bad backyard"...

Story Time (Feb. 3)

This week's storytime theme was "friendship". We got to make some really cool friendship bracelets and then we colored crayons for a giant crayon box on the wall of the library (we got to take one home too). Annabelle really enjoys the storytime crafts.

Annabelle's Room

Annabelle LOVES playing in her room (I am so thankful she now has a room to play in!). Most of the time it's a total mess in there with dress-up clothes everywhere. I found Walter in the middle of all the mess sleeping the other day, I think he enjoys Annabelle's room just as much as she does :)

The Results are In!

The results of the chi-weenie vote are in! We have 66% "Yes" votes, thanks for voting! We are definitely thinking about getting a chi-weenie but first need to get new grass in our backyard (& a swing set for Annabelle). I contacted a yard guy last week (who didn't speak much English), he came out and looked at the yard but I haven't heard back from him on an estimate for putting in new sod. I think he might have thought it was a little too much work for him? I'll be contacting another landscaping business on Monday and see if I can't get some estimates. We would really like to have the new sod installed this month since weather is cooler & it has been rainy.
